PA-269. Knights Cross Oak Leaves Winner's item - WWII Rare
Operations Book for Army Group North for
fighting in the Soviet Union 1941-42. This is a large book
about 17" X 12" with unit insignia of Army Group North on the
front. In this book I found an official document
dated 1943 from the HQs, Army Group North to Generaloberst
Lindemann, about this book. From what I can find out in researching
this book is that it was put together by HQs of Army Group North as a
commerative/operational item of most likely the Crimean campaign
against the Soviets in 1941-42, during the early part of Operation
Barbarossa. It has many operational maps and the like for battles
held with overlays of actions. The document shows it was given to
Generaloberst Lindemann in
1943, document is also stamped "Geheim" in red on it, which is German
for "SECRET". The document when translated is titled
"Operational Atlas for the Campaign againest the Soviet Union
1941".
The maps and other items in this book are all marked from 1941
& 1942. Generaloberst Lindemann is a Knights Cross with
Oak Leaves winner, he commanded troops around Leningrad. In 1944
he was promoted to full command of Army Group North, later that year he
was relieved and transferred to the Reserved Army back in
Germany. This is
a rare item with original confirming document to a well know ranking
Knights Cross Oakleaves winner - one of a kind item......$1,300.
